Welcome to Gocryo
In fact, as temperature decreases, order is established. By this fundamental observation, we have ventured into the science and art of low temperature phenomenon. Its benefits to motoring enthusiasts, sportsmen, industries, and scientists is already recognized, and Gocryo provided this performance enhancing process treatment to materials.
Cryogenic treatment of materials to improve wear characteristics is a relatively new engineering field. To date little has been reported on the basic mechanisms of the process. However, in recent years, we have seen an increase in the use of cryogenics, a result of aerospace research, to improve the wear resistance and durability of various metals and materials. The key to understanding why the application of cryogenics works is to identify the largest benefit of the treatment itself. Dimensional stability. Dimensional stability is the critical factor that leads to less wear. The cryogenically treated parts do not deform. The parts hold their shape under higher pressures and temperatures. This lack of deformation leads to less heat being generated. The surfaces do what they were designed to do, without uneven fractal events taking place causing excessive heat. Since heat is reduced, wear is reduced considerably. Wear is a direct consequence of heat and friction.
All systems are in a constant battle to maintain equilibrium. In dynamic systems, such as cutting systems, the cutting part is exposed to static and dynamic stresses that act on the cutter. When the cutting part distorts, it heats up and wears until the part recovers equilibrium, where the rest of the tool starts to share again in the cutting process. If you remove the distortion, you remove heat, and therefore remove unnecessary wear. Cryogenic treatment of materials enhances the dimensional stability of each part by removing internal stresses. Generally, all materials change shape and size when heated and cooled. Cooling a part to −300 °F causes the part to release internal binding that formed during manufacturing, shaping, and usage. In steel, atomic movement occurs, and can be seen by SEM micrographs. Elevated carbon content steel such as FCC iron, or austenite, is transformed to martensite. This transition in the microstructure has a direct correlation to the exposure to very cold temperatures.
Every industry has some application for the use of cryogenic material treatment — to increase tool and part life, to decrease down-time due to change-out and regrinding, and to reduce costly tool inventory. Cryogenic technology plays a significant role in reducing yearly service costs of most industries world-wide.
Barnett Cryogenics brought this process to Europe in order to provide materials processing to industries, scientists, and sportsmen who demand performance. Cryogenic processing was offered as a way to reduce annual costs and increase the performance of parts. The commercial company no longer trades.
